to celebrate fifty fathoms deeps 2nd year of pressing we asked some of our favourite producers to remix a selection of cuts from our back catalogue and as expected they ve all come up trumps! the ep opens with fouk boys riding the groove on their remix of ugly drums don t let life (passing by) then thatmanmonkz goes left of centre with his reimagining of phil asher feat james massiahs move ya self. on the flip new zealand s frank booker comes correct on his take of lay-fars triptych to round off a great package. the ep is a fitting way to mark another year of quality music from fifty fathoms deep.

the next release on first music comes from profile with a beautiful picture cover! its a musical journey and a bomb tool for the upcoming summer months! we doubt that estonian-born artist viive kuks could imagine in 1984 that her euau-forte >viljandi vaade< (trnl. view of viljandi) will be on the record sleeve of a dubtechno record in 2015. moreover, that the birthplace of the music is also viljandi and that the graphics plate was stolen during turbulent times when a lot of countries were liberated. it was quite an off-chance and hard to believe that profile found a copy of the work at his grandparents place, framed and photographed the work for his 2nd vinyl release. and here it is, through countless threads and connections, through the memories of our forefathers. pure liberation.

trippy adventurous melodies over solid heavy grooving percussion. only the 2nd release and the label already shows something of a sound signature. on the a-side, label-head gianmaria coccoluto drops his softmore release in the form of spacing, a heads-down techno joint dripping with acidic sonics and grizzly, driving low-ends. over on the flipside, 909 delirium dishes out the percussive punishments and is handsomely morphed, revamped and militarised by the workings of simoncino (l.i.e.s. records and mathematics recordings affiliate) who floats effortlessly between the shadows of chicago and detroits aesthetics via berlin and perugia. strong release on the new tete records

hand-stamped whitelabel, repress of the 2014. on the third release by rote liebe, marquese combines ambient soundscapes, a sun-drenched breakbeat workout and groove-centered house to form a versatile release. rote liebe is a cologne-based collective, founded in 2006 with a focus on events in various off-locations and clubs around the city. 2013 marked the launch of the rote liebe label with the aim to build a catalogue which features a broad musical spectrum, featuring house, techno, broken beat and experimental electronics just as the regular rote liebe nights.

waehlscheibe is back: the swiss label keeps on doing what it does best and releases another truly deep and dubby house record. this time its japanese artist takuya morita known for his releases on morris / audio and adjunct who pleases with soft pads and chords, rich delays and ultra low basses. all four tracks on this record are strictly instrumental and oscillate nicely between deep house and techno. moreover, they cover a wide range of moods suitable for playing at various times of the night. the >placid sunset ep< comes with a special 2nd version of the title track which has been reconstructed and stripped down by s&ro and alessandro crimi from waehlscheibe. as always all tracks have been mastered by above smoke at the hole of dub studio.

distant is rebekahs 2nd release on clr, after the success of her first cycles ep back in 2013, the long awaited second single distant is veering towards a deeper side of this artists repertoire.

this year is the 2nd year of polen and right now we are presenting the fifth record. louis is a drummer, a bassist, a musician and a dancer and this is his ep for polen. it was a lot of recreating and a lot of shifting to get the end result, but it was worth waiting for. music for dancefloor, for mornings and afternoons, for dancing feet and chosen ears. the art work is made by anne-sophie kneer.

parages music presents their 8th release. on the a side there is a track by honesty, german dj-producer, half of slope music, signed on cabinet records and sonar kollektiv. he delivers for parages a big house track, full of warm chords, strong claps and a moving bassline. better drop this one at peak time ! the remix is done by the one and only moonstarr, broken beat pioneer and classy remixer. a man who knows everything about detroit techno, hiphop and bossa. moonstarr chop honestys track into a fast groovy tune, bassline and chords are losing control! on the b side its adjowas tune orient. the man is producing a lot recenlty, signed on freerange, dont be afraid and happy skull. this track is made live with vintage gear and is tape recorded. orient is a boogie electro bomb, super vintage synths, maximum groove bassline, and dusty reverb. a must have.the remixer on this side is basic soul unit, not necessary to introduce this one. top producer, dj and remixer. it is his 2nd appearance on parages. bsu switches adjowa’s track into a dub affair, basement feel, 808, masterclasstune.

discobar is coming back with a french addition to the label, based in paris and the third part of the trio antislash. we welcome toba, our dear friend who has signed an original ep for the 2nd release on discobar. we can definitely hear the techno minimal sounds with a touch of deepness. baptiste veilhan aka toba shows us his universe with more than 10 years of experience behind him in production with the trio antislash. this will be his first apparition in solo.
